Hands-On Hygiene

Renée Marchant-Turner, RDH graduated from  Cabrillo College, California in 1980 and practices full time as a dental hygienist in Santa Rosa, California.  Renée has clinical experience in general, periodontal and public health settings.    She has been the keynote speaker on ultrasonics for Hayes Co. and Tony Riso Co., taught coronal polish courses, been published in Modern Hygienist, Contemporary Oral Hygiene and RDH magazines.  Additionally, she served on the editorial review board for Contemporary Oral Hygiene magazine.  She currently is a contributing editor for Modern Hygienist magazine.  She has presented her topic, “Get In Touch With Your Ultrasonic Side,” at the UCSF Dental Alumni Association’s 110^th Scientific Session and for numerous dental hygiene groups. 

 After attending numerous lecture courses on micro ultrasonics in the early 1990’s, Renée studied hands-on with John Kwan, DDS and Peggy Hawkins, RDH in 1995.  In 1996 and 1997 Renée assisted Ms. Hawkins, teaching hands-on courses in Santa Rosa, California. 

 Excited by teaching, Renée continued by instructing friends with micro ultrasonics to help them with hand fatigue and to stave off carpel tunnel syndrome, the same methods that had helped her own hand and neck problems.  In 2002, Renée and Sandra Kramer, RDH collaborated to teach half-day hands-on courses. 

 Today, Renée teaches full day classes and has developed a comprehensive packet of reading materials to accompany the day of hands-on training in advanced ultrasonic technique.  She also teaches in-office ergonomic workshops.
